Peggy Schadegg

SCHADEGG, Peggy Kaye (Grizzell), On the afternoon of Saturday, July 4, 2020, Penny Kaye Schadegg (Grizzell) of Reno, Nevada, daughter of I.J. and Laurel Grizzell, was granted the privilege of going home to walk and talk and tarry with her Lord in the Garden at the age of 66. Just like Him, Penny was a “collector of broken people,” who never knew a stranger, and who truly was an example of loving her neighbor as herself. Penny was a native of Middle Tennessee and called Capistrano Beach, California and Reno, Nevada, her home for many years. She was a member of the Church of Christ since childhood. A successful entrepreneur, Penny owned her own business for over 30 years, which allowed her to travel and impact many lives all over the country. All were welcome in Penny’s home, but especially if you were hungry for black-eyed peas on New Year’s, brisket on the Fourth of July, a full spread of her mother Laurel’s recipes on Thanksgiving, or a bowl of homemade chili on Christmas Eve. She loved everyone “like her heart.” She is survived by her loving husband, Michael Joseph Schadegg of Reno, Nevada; her six children, Shari Harp of Double Oak, Texas, Sandra Yates of Richardson, Texas, Michael Schadegg of Fort Worth, Texas, Heather Hickman of San Clemente, California, Heath Schadegg of Corinth, Texas and Andrew Schadegg of Reno, Nevada; 16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by four siblings, Dwight Grizzell, Freda Clifton, Ricky Grizzell, and Kenneth Grizzell. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, Aug. 15, 2020, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A memorial will be held for Penny at the Moore-Cortner Funeral Home in Winchester, Tennessee, on Saturday, Aug. 15, 2020, at 1 p.m. with burial of her ashes to follow at the Salem Cemetery in McMinnville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the Crohns & Colitis Foundation at in Penny’s name. Moore-Cortner Funeral Home, 300 1st Ave NW, Winchester, TN 37398 (931) 967-2222
