Malissa White


 WHITE, Malissa Gayle Smith, age 62, of Huntland, Tennessee, departed this life suddenly on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2020, at STRHS, Winchester. Mrs. White was born in Winchester, Tennessee, on July 24, 1958, to the late John Newman Smith Sr. and Mary Ellen McAmis Smith. She was a member of the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Flintville, Tennessee. She was last employed at Tepro in Winchester as a computer technician. She was also previously employed for many years at the former Lanier Clothing in Decherd. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and cooking. She also liked “face booking” with her family and friends. She enjoyed singing gospel hymns and listening to Carole King music. She will be remembered as a very sweet lady who loved her husband, children and grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. White was preceded in death by her sisters, Pamela Smith, Becky Suhr and Margaret Neal and brother, Melvin Smith. She is survived by her husband, Darrell White of Huntland; daughter, Shamara Myers and husband, James of Decherd; son, D.J. White of Huntland; grandchildren, Noah, Sharlette, Zoey, Jonah Savannah, Titus, Lucy, Diego and Danny; brothers, John Smith Jr. and wife, Jenny of Winchester, Thomas Smith and wife, Kathy, Charles Smith, Randy Smith and wife, Karen, all of Belvidere; and sisters, Joanne Robinson and Sarah Limbaugh, both of Winchester, and Kathy Harris and husband Billy of Manchester. Mrs. White’s visitation was held on Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2020, from 5-8 p.m. in the chapel of Grant Funeral Services in Estill Springs. Services were held on Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2020, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Grant Funeral Services with Bro. John Ben Neal and Bro. James Myers officiating. Interment followed in the Owens Chapel Cemetery in Winchester. Grant Funeral Services in charge of the arrangements.
