RIEL, Richard Allan, age 69, of Winchester, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 27, 2021, in the arms of his loving wife. Mr. Riel was a retired U.S. Army veteran and traveled the world; Alaska, Korea, Germany, Italy, and served in Vietnam, the Gulf War and Iraq. He was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. He will be remembered as a loving husband and hardworking man and he loved his family more than anything. He had a heart of gold. Rick was predeceased by his parents, Edgar and Zula Riel; brother, Robert Riel; sister, Margaret Riel Plante and father-in-law, Bobby H. Garrett. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Bobbie Jean (Garrett) Riel of Winchester, Tennessee; sons, Richard Riel of West Seneca, New York and Randy Riel of Buffalo, New York; loving grandchildren, Reese, Jackson and Colton of West Seneca, New York; sister, Patricia Mattingly of husband, Charlie of Tucson, Arizona; sister, Donna Merrow and husband, Walter of Winchester, Tennessee; sister, Barbara Fitzpatrick and husband, John of Winchester, Tennessee; brother, Jeffrey Riel and wife, Sonya of Franklin, New Hampshire; sister, Valerie Pearson and husband, Randy of Cook, Minnesota; brother, Michael Riel and partner, Tammy of Pittsfield, New Hampshire; and mother-in-law, Wanda Jean Garrett. Rick also leaves behind special nephew, Ryan Gardner and many other nieces, nephews and cousins. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
