Robert Powell Sr.


 POWELL, Robert, Sr., age 77, of Belvidere, Tennessee, departed this life on Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2021, at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Powell was born in Winchester, Tennessee, on June 13, 1944, to the late John Davis Powell and Damie Hill Powell. He was of the Nazarene faith. Mr. Powell was a licensed electrician for approximately 55 years. His hobbies were woodworking and fishing. He enjoyed spending time with his children and his grandchildren who affectionately called him “Pap.” He would willingly give the “shirt off of his back to help someone. He will be remembered for his amazing storytelling abilities and will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Powell of Belvidere; sons, Robert Powell, Jr. and wife, Kathleen of Tullahoma, Tennessee, and Ricky Powell and wife, Bandie of Flintville, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Robert Brent Powell, Tori Powell and Cara Galloway; three great-grandchildren; brother, Clayton Powell of Huntland; sisters, Helen Wilkerson of Estill Springs, and Carolyn Grist of McMinnville, Tennessee. Visitation with the family was held on Sunday, Sept. 12, 2021, from noon to 2 p.m. at Grant Funeral Services in Estill Springs. Services were conducted on Sunday, Sept. 12, 2021, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Grant Funeral Services with Pastor Robert Reed officiating. Interment followed the services in the Maxwell Cemetery in Belvidere.
