The Huntland High School cross country Lady Hornets competed in a meet Wednesday at Community High School.
The Lady Hornets finished the meet with three top-20 finishes, including one top-five placement for the day, and they also finished third out of six teams in the group standings.
Logan McLennan led the way for the Lady Hornets as she finished fifth for the meet with a time of 24:59. Lincoln County’s Sadie Wisner took first place with a final mark of 23:51.
Megan Tipps was the next Lady Hornet across the finish line as she took 18th place for the race with a time of 27:25.
Teammates Chelsea Walker and Harley Gulley finished within one second of each other as they took 20th and 21st, respectively, with times of 28:40 and 28:41.
Morgan Sanders rounded out the placements for the Lady Hornets on the day as she finished 30th out of 43 runners. The official results posted online did not show any times beyond 25th place.
In the team standings, the Lady Hornets placed third with a group score of 94 for the meet. Lincoln County would take the top spot with 38 team points in the girls race.
The Lady Hornets will next compete on Tuesday in a meet at the Winchester City Park. The meet is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
