The Franklin County chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes hosted its 12th annual Dennis Meeks Golf Tournament Saturday at the Bear Trace at Tims Ford.
The tournament was in its 12th year of operation, but it was the second edition to carry the name of Dennis Meeks, one of the creators of the event.
Twelve teams participated in the four-player scramble event across two flights. There were seven teams in the championship flight with another five in the senior flight.
Proceeds from the event will go toward FCA camps for Franklin County students.
Prize money was awarded for first and second place in each flight with additional prizes for a putting contest and for getting closest to the pin on specific holes. There was also a variety of door prizes given to participants.
The top team in the championship flight was the quartet of David Dunlap, Hannah Dunlap, Corey Garner and Mike Gould. They shot 16-under for the day to earn the prize money of $300.
The ensemble of Gina Maxwell, Ron Moore, Ann Henson and Wanda Sanders finished in first place for the senior division with a score of 12-under. They also walked away with $300 in prize money.
