The Franklin County Middle girls soccer team lost to the Tullahoma Lady Wildcats 5-0 on the road Monday for their first loss of the season.

Franklin County fell behind early in the contest and was not able to bounce back as the Lady Wildcats pulled away in the second half.

FC Middle head soccer coach Jacob Cashion said that his team wasn’t able to match Tullahoma’s early intensity in the matchup.

The Lady Wildcats took the lead within two minutes of the opening kickoff and added another two goals in the first half.

Franklin County improved its play in the second half, but the Lady Wildcats expanded their advantage with goals midway through the period and in the closing minutes of the game to seal the loss by five.

With the loss, FC Middle moved to 4-1 on the season.

The girls soccer team will next play Friday at home against Harris Middle School. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
