The North Middle School Gatorettes beat the East Lady Panthers 33-28 on the road Monday for their fourth win of the season.
The Gatorettes were in complete control for the first three quarters and held off a late push from the hosting Lady Panthers to pick up the win.
The Gatorettes allowed just two points in the opening period as they quickly built a double-digit lead. Mallory Cunningham scored nine of North’s 14 points in the first quarter.
They led 14-2 after one quarter.
The Lady Panthers began to get their offense going in the second quarter, but the Gatorettes still maintained a decent lead.
They led 22-12 at halftime.
The third quarter would be another dominant one on defense for the Gatorettes as they got the lead up to its highest point of the day.
They led 29-14 going into the final period.
The Lady Panthers erased a majority of the deficit in the fourth quarter, but the Gatorettes added a few more points to their tally to win by five points.
Cunningham led the Gatorettes with 13 points for the game, followed by Paris Majors with eight points and Baylor Russell with five.
Laia Rose scored four points, Judah Hill scored two and Danica Stovall scored one.
With the win, the Gatorettes improved to 4-6 on the season.
They will next play Thursday at Coffee County Middle School. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
