The North Middle School Gators lost to the Warren County Pioneers 51-10 on the road Wednesday in the quarterfinals of their conference tournament.
The Pioneers complete dominated the contest as the Gators were unable to get any sort of momentum going on offense.
The Gators scored two points early in the first quarter, but the Pioneers responded with nine straight points to set the tone for the day.
The Gators trailed 11-2 after one quarter.
The second quarter would not turn out much better for the Gators as the deficit continued to grow throughout the first half.
They trailed 25-6 at halftime.
The Pioneers opened the third quarter with a 17-0 run which pretty much put the game out of reach for the Gators.
They trailed 45-8 going into the final period.
The scoring woes for the Gators continued until the end of the game as they took a loss by a final margin of 41 points.
Eric Jones led the Gators with four points for the game, followed by Jayden Kennerly, Landon Presley and Aiden Smith with two points each.
With the loss, the Gators moved to 6-9 on the season.
They will next play Wednesday against Whitthorne Middle School at Coffee County Middle School in a first-round game for their sub-sectional tournament. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:45 p.m.
