The North Middle School Gators lost to the Warren County Pioneers 63-36 on the road Thursday for their third loss of the season.
The Gators kept the game close in the first half, but an offensive explosion by the Pioneers after halftime would lead to the loss.
The Gators had their best offensive quarter to start the contest as they took an early lead on the scoreboard.
They led 10-8 after one quarter.
The Pioneers shifted the momentum in the second quarter as they took the lead before the end of the half.
The Gators trailed 21-19 at halftime.
The Pioneers doubled their score in the third quarter with the assistance of four 3-pointers as the Gators were not able to keep up.
They trailed 43-27 going into the final period.
The Gators allowed another 20 points in the fourth quarter as the score steadily got out of hand before they took a loss by 27.
Jacob Hardison led the Gators with 11 points for the game, followed by Eric Jones with 10 points and Cason Eslick with eight.
Jayden Kennerly scored five points and Landon Presley scored two.
With the loss, the Gators moved to 2-3 on the season.
They will next play Monday at home against White County Middle School. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
