North's Gavin Wise dribbles the ball across the court during a conference tournament game Wednesday against West Middle School. Wise scored five points in the 39-14 loss.

The North Middle School Gators lost to the West Bobcats 39-14 at Harris Middle School Wednesday in a quarterfinal game for their conference tournament.

The Gators struggled to score for most of the day as the top-seeded Bobcats blew them out to end their tournament run early.

The score was close throughout the first quarter with the Bobcats holding a slight early.

The Gators trailed 8-5 after one quarter.

A basket by Caleb Bean would provide the only points for North in the second quarter as West began to take control of the scoreboard.

The Gators trailed 16-7 at halftime.

The Gators were held completely scoreless in the third quarter as the deficit surpassed 20 points.

They trailed 29-7 going into the final period.

The Gators were able to get their offense going again in the fourth quarter, but it would be far too late as they lost by 25 points.

Bean and Gavin Wise led the Gators with five points each for the game, followed by Elijah Cable and Aiden Kelley with two points each.

With the loss, the Gators moved to 0-10 on the season.
