The North Middle School Gators beat the Coffee County Raiders 32-26 on the road Monday for their third win of the season.
The Gators did most of their scoring in the fourth quarter as they took control of the scoreboard late to pick up their third straight victory.
The Raiders took an early 8-2 lead, but the Gators scored five straight points to end the opening period.
They trailed 8-7 after one quarter.
The Gators then scored the first six points of the second quarter for a cumulative 11-0 run, but the Raiders answered back with five straight points of their own to tie the score at 13-13 going into the halftime break.
Both offenses stalled in the third quarter with a total of four points being scored for the period.
The game was tied at 15-15 going into the final period.
The Gators’ offense came alive in the fourth quarter as they opened the period with a 14-5 run to take the largest lead of the game for either side. The Raiders would get no closer than five points for the rest of the day as North won by six.
Cayden Poff led the Gators with 11 points for the game, followed by Aiden Kelley with eight points and Gavin Wise with seven.
Will Hyden scored four points and Brayden Arnold scored two.
With the win, the Gators improved to 3-1 on the season.
They will next play Thursday at home against Harris Middle School. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
