The North Middle School Gators beat the Warren County Pioneers 20-16 at home Monday for their third win of the season.
The Gators overcame a slow start on offense and a 10-point halftime deficit with a pair of touchdowns in the second half as they moved their record for the year back above .500.
The Gators were limited to six points in the first half with their lone touchdown coming on a run by Will Hyden.
They trailed 16-6 at halftime.
However, the Gators were able to hold the Pioneers scoreless the rest of the way as they chipped away at the deficit.
Quarterback Gavin Wise came up with two touchdowns in the second half as he threw a scoring pass to Loui Arellano and added a touchdown on the ground to give North the lead.
With the Pioneers driving down the field late in the contest, Kyran Peace came up with a game-sealing interception to secure the four-point victory.
With the win, the Gators improved to 3-2 on the season.
They will next play Thursday at Harris Middle School. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
