The Huntland High School boys and girls cross country teams competed in a meet Tuesday at Cascade High School and combined for eight top-10 finishes.
The Hornets claimed the top two overall spots in their portion of the meet and also had two other runners reach the top 10.
Eli Stevenson finished first for the day with a time of 17:51.Pedro Garcia took the next spot in second place with a mark of 19:14.
Dylan Schultz completed the course with a time of 19:50 to finish fifth overall for the meet.
Debron Holt finished in 10th place for Huntland with a time of 22:04.
The remaining runners for the Hornets and their times and placements for the day were Cade MacDonald, 26th, 25:42; Dalton Howell, 27th, 26:29; Austin Haring, 29th, 26:30; Kaleb Stovall, 30th, 26:56 and Will Jolley, 34th, 28:32.
On the girls side, there were four Lady Hornets in competition and all four were able to find to find their way into the top 10.
The best time for the Lady Hornets came from Anna Stevenson. She finished fourth overall with a mark of 25:23 for the day.
Kami Riley crossed the finish line with a time of 26:45 to finish seventh while Sadie Harris was right behind her in eighth place with a mark of 26:48.
Harley Thompson rounded out the performance for the Lady Hornets by finishing ninth with a time of 28:03.
The Hornets and Lady Hornets will next be in action on Thursday in a meet in Manchester. The meet is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
