The Huntland High School boys and girls cross country teams competed in the Eagle’s Nest meet in Normandy on Tuesday and came away with five top-10 finishes.

The Lady Hornets shined in the meet as four of their five runners placed in the top 15, and they finished second overall in the girls team standings.

Anna Stevenson had the top time for the Lady Hornets as she placed fifth with a mark of 23:54.

Kami Riley finished seconds behind her in seventh place with a time of 24:00.

Megan Tipps was able to complete the course with a time of 24:38 to finish eighth in the standings.

Harley Thompson placed 12th overall with a mark of 25:53, and Natalie Stovall rounded out the placements for the Lady Hornets as she finished 22nd with a time of 32:47.

The Hornets had a few high placements in their portion of the meet as they occupied two of the top three spots in the boys race.

Eli Stevenson finished second overall for the Hornets with a time of 18:12 for the meet.

Pedro Garcia completed the course in 18:37 to take third overall.

The remaining runners for the Hornets and their times and placements for the day were Cade MacDonald, 45th, 27:49; Dalton Howell, 46th, 28:00; Will Jolley, 47th, 28:29; and Hayden Thompson, 53rd, 35:15.

The Hornets and Lady Hornets will next be in action on Saturday at the Midstate Cross Country Association Championship meet at Buckner City Park in Dickson. The meet is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
