The boys and girls cross country teams of Huntland High School competed in a meet at Don Davidson Park in Fayetteville Tuesday and recorded five top-25 finishes.
The best finishes for Huntland came on the boys side as two Hornets made it into the top 10 and a third narrowly missed joining them.
Eli Stevenson had the top overall time for Huntland as he finished fourth overall with a mark of 18:40.
Pedro Garcia was able to grab seventh place overall with a time of 19:34.
Dylan Schultz completed the course in 20:15 to finish just outside the top 10with an 11th-place finish.
Debron Holt was able to crack the top 50 for the Hornets on the day as he finished 45th overall with a time of 23:48.
The remaining runners for the Hornets and their times and placements were Cade MacDonald, 87th, 27:09; Kaleb Stovall, 98th, 30:27; Will Jolley, 100th, 30:42; and Austin Haring, 110th, 33:40.
On the girls side, Anna Stevenson finished 19th with a mark of 26:14 to lead the Lady Hornets.
Kami Riley also ran her way into the top 25 as she finished 24th with a time of 27:14. Sadie Harris wasn’t too far behind her in 27th place with a time of 27:51.
Bailey Morris was able to finish 30th overall with a time of 28:49.
Rounding out the times and placements for the Lady Hornets were Harley Thompson, 36th, 30:15; Natalie Stovall, 51st, 33:28; and Maddux Golden, 64th, 38:18.
The Hornets and Lady Hornets will next be in action on Monday with a meet at the Winchester City Park. The meet is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
