The Huntland High School boys and girls cross country teams competed in a meet at Henry Horton State Park in Chapel Hill on Tuesday.
There were more than 230 total runners at the event with the Hornets and Lady Hornets each recording three top-50 finishes in their respective races.
Eli Stevenson had the top overall time for the Hornets as he placed fourth overall with a time of 18:28.
Teammate Pedro Garcia finished a few spots behind Stevenson, completing the course in 19:34 to finish eighth.
Dylan Schultz rounded out the top-50 performances for the Hornets by crossing the finish line in 21st with a time of 20:09.
The remaining runners in action for the Hornets and their times and placements for the day were Debron Holt, 71st, 24:45; Cade MacDonald, 103rd, 27:36; Kaleb Stovall, 120th, 31:08; and Will Jolley, 125th, 31:15.
On the girls side, Anna Stevenson recorded the top time for the Lady Hornets after finishing in 25th with a time of 26:07.
Kami Riley completed the course in 38th place with a time of 27:18 while Sadie Harris finished 44th with a mark of 28:20.
The other runners in action for the Lady Hornets were Bailey Morris, 53rd, 29:30; Harley Thompson, 62nd, 30:53; and Maddux Golden, 75th, 35:54.
The Hornets and Lady Hornets will next be in action on Thursday at the St. Andrew’s-Sewanee Invitational. The meet is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
