The boys and girls cross country teams of Huntland High School competed in a meet Thursday at Bowie Park in Fairview.
The Lady Hornets had five runners place in the top 20 for the meet with Kami Riley leading the way with a seventh-place finish. She completed the course with a time of 24:15.
Anna Stevenson raced to a ninth-place finish with a mark of 24:45 for the meet.
Jocy May finished close behind Stevenson in 11th place with a time of 25:08, and Harley Gulley placed 14th with a mark of 25:18.
Aysia Williams rounded out the high placements for the Lady Hornets with a time of 27:11 to finish 18th.
The remaining runners for the Lady Hornets and their times for the day were Maddux Golden, 30:13; and Judah Hill, 30:14.
The Hornets were led by senior runner Pedro Garcia, who finished seventh in the boys race with a time of 18:25.
Ethan Sons also made it into the top 20 for the Hornets as he placed 17th with a mark of 21:39.
The remaining runners for the Hornets and their times and placements for the day were Blake Thompson, 25th, 22:26; Iseal Martinez, 34th, 23:03; and Will Jolley, 44th, 27:15.
The Hornets and Lady Hornets will next run on Saturday in the Rocket Invitational at the Delk-Henson Intermediate School in Chapel Hill. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1:15 p.m.
