The South Middle School Lady Trojans lost to the Warren County Lady Pioneers 50-17 on the road Monday for their fifth loss of the season.

The Lady Trojans fell into a deep hole early in the game and they were not able to recover as they took a road loss.

The Lady Pioneers started the game with their best offensive quarter while limiting South to just two points on the other end of the court.

The Lady Trojans trailed 16-2 after one quarter.

The Lady Trojans got their offense on track in the second quarter, but they could not make up any ground as the Lady Pioneers remained a step ahead of them.

They trailed 28-11 at halftime.

The Lady Trojans put up just one point in the third quarter as the game continued to fall out of reach.

They trailed 35-12 going into the final period.

The Lady Pioneers continued to pull away in the fourth quarter as they gave the Lady Trojans a loss by 33 points.

Na’Kayjah Holman led the Lady Trojans with five points for the game, followed by Candace Dedrick with four points, Rakeirra Carmichael and La’Karis Brown with three points each and Anaya Kennerly with two points.

With the loss, the Lady Trojans moved to 0-6 on the season.

They will next play Thursday at home against East Middle School. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
