The South Middle School Lady Trojans lost to the White County Warriorettes 45-9 at Warren County High School Monday in a quarterfinal game for the Central Tennessee Conference Tournament.

The Lady Trojans had trouble scoring against the top-seeded Warriorettes throughout the contest as their tournament run came to an early end.

The Warriorettes did not allow any points in the opening period as the Lady Trojans trailed 15-0 after one quarter.

The Lady Trojans’ scoring drought ended with two minutes left in the first half when Na’Kayjah Holman scored on a layup.

They trailed 26-2 at halftime.

The Lady Trojans were able to limit the Warriorettes to just four points in the third quarter, but they were not able to make up any ground on the scoreboard.

They trailed 30-5 going into the final period.

The Warriorettes pulled further away in the fourth quarter as they gave the Lady Trojans a loss by 36 points.

Holman led the Lady Trojans with four points for the game, followed by Candace Dedrick with three points and Auna Foster and Anaya Kennerly with one point each.

With the loss, the Lady Trojans moved to 1-16 on the season.

They will next play Saturday at EA Cox Middle School in a first-round game for their sub-sectional tournament. The time and opponent for the game had not been announced at the time of writing.
