The South Middle School Lady Trojans lost to the White County Warriorettes 47-17 at home Thursday for their fifth loss of the season.

The Lady Trojans were outscored in every quarter as they fell behind early and could not recover against the Warriorettes.

The Warriorettes scored the first 10 points of the contest to put the Lady Trojans in an early hole.

They trailed 12-4 after one quarter.

The game turned into a blowout in the second quarter as the Lady Trojans mustered just one point while White County put up 17.

The Lady Trojans trailed 29-5 at halftime.

The Lady Trojans got their offense going in the second half, but they continued to lose ground on the scoreboard.

They trailed 39-13 entering the final period.

The Lady Trojans were not able to cut into the deficit in the fourth quarter as they lost by 30.

Anaya Kennerly led the Lady Trojans with seven points for the game, followed by Candace Dedrick with four points and Na’Kayjah Holman, Ava Yates and Rakeirra Carmichael with two points each.

With the loss, the Lady Trojans moved to 0-5 on the season.

They will next play Monday at Warren County Middle School. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
