Franklin County's Aydan Yates races toward the finish line during a meet Thursday at St. Andrew's-Sewanee School. Yates finished first at the meet with a time of 18:20.

The cross country teams of Franklin County High School and Huntland High School ran in the St. Andrew’s-Sewanee Invitational meet Thursday.

Both programs found success at the meet with the Hornets and Lady Hornets producing three top-20 finishes each while the Rebels and Rebelettes had a total of four top-20 finishes, including a first-place finish in the boys race.

Aydan Yates had the top time for the entire meet as he was able to complete the course in 18:20.

The remainder of the top five on the boys side would be dominated by the Hornets, led by Eli Stevenson finishing second with a mark of 19:18.

Pedro Garcia ran the course in 19:53 to finish fourth overall while Dylan Schultz finished fifth with a time of 20:36.

The Rebels had two more runners joining Yates in the top 20 with the first being Jayden Taylor in ninth place with a time of 21:21.

Zac Green placed in 15th for the day with a time of 23:03.

The other runners in action for the Hornets and their times and placements included Debron Holt, 21st, 23:37; Cade MacDonald, 44th, 27:21; and Will Jolley, 61st, 32:12.

The other competitors for the Rebels and their times and placements were Derek Burge, 23rd, 23:41; Christian Farrell, 36th, 25:38; Braden Collins, 38th, 26:37; Caleb Cashion, 45th, 27:31; Jackson Wine, 47th, 27:50; and Blake Broadbent, 58th, 31:05.

On the girls side, Franklin County’s Nora Daugherty had the top performance for the local runners in action with a time of 26:57 to finish 11th.

The only other runner in action for the Rebelettes was Svetlana Earls, who placed 28th in the girls race with a time of 34:25.

The Lady Hornets had three runners crack the top 20 with the first being Anna Stevenson. Stevenson finished 13th overall with a time of 27:52.

Sadie Harris crossed the finish line in 15th place with a time of 28:19, and teammate Kami Riley was close behind her with a mark of 28:51 to finish 18th.

The other runners to complete the course for the Lady Hornets and their times and placements were Natalie Stovall, 24th, 32:23; Harley Thompson, 31st, 35:33; and Maddux Golden, 35th, 38:21.

The Hornets and Lady Hornets will next compete Saturday in the AF Bridges Invitational at Percy Warner Park in Nashville. The meet is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.

The Rebels and Rebelettes will next be in action on Saturday in the Warrior Invitational at Riverdale High School. The meet is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m.
