The Huntland Middle School Hornets beat the Blanche Middle School Bulldogs 50-26 at home on Thursday for their fourth win of the season.
Seven different players scored for the Hornets as they won the hard-hitting game to extend their winning streak.
Huntland head football coach Mike Jernigan said he was really proud of the way his team was able to play.
“The team played really hard and there were some tremendous hits in the game,” Jernigan said. “We really challenged them and they responded well.”
DaShuan Reynolds led the way for the Hornets with 149 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns.
Harlan Pitts ran for 119 yards and a touchdown in the contest.
Trace Kilpatrick helped the offense move the ball with 57 rushing yard and two touchdowns on the ground.
Tyrese Stovall was all over the place for the Hornets’ defense, recording 10 tackles and four tackles for loss in the contest.
Reynolds was also a major threat on the defensive end with six tackles and two sacks.
Avery Foster halted the passing attack of the Bulldogs with two interceptions for the day.
With the win, the Hornets improved to 4-2 on the season.
They will next play Thursday at Flintville Middle School. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
