The Huntland Middle School Lady Hornets beat the Blanche Lady Bulldogs 67-12 at home Thursday for their 13th win of the season.

The Lady Hornets continued their dominant play at home this season as they blew out the Lady Bulldogs behind a strong effort on both ends of the court.

The Lady Hornets established the tone for the contest by scoring 25 points in the opening period.

They led 25-2 after one quarter.

The lead continued to grow completely out of hand in the first half as the Lady Hornets put up another 18 points in the second quarter.

They led 43-4 at halftime.

The Lady Hornets were able to turn to their bench in the third quarter with the backup players maintaining full control of the court.

They led 58-7 going into the final period.

A running clock in the fourth quarter brought a quick end to the contest as the Lady Hornets won by 55 points.

Bailey Morris and Jocy May led the Lady Hornets with 10 points for the game, followed by Marley Phillips and Maddie Burks with nine points each.

Hazel Reed and TaTianna Stovall scored six points each, Jacey Riley scored five, Kinsley Grace scored four, and Yareli Avalos, Morgan Sanders, Kaley Barnett and Mica Finchum scored two points each.

With the win, the Lady Hornets improved to 13-2 on the season.

They will next play Monday at Highland Rim Middle School. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
