The Huntland Middle School Lady Hornets beat the Flintville Lady Bobcats 57-20 on the road Thursday for their 15th win of the season.
The Lady Hornets built a massive lead in the first half and cruised from there to secure their fifth straight victory.
The Lady Hornets got off to a fast start as they dropped 18 points in the first quarter to create a double-digit lead.
They led 18-6 after one quarter.
The Lady Hornets dominated on both ends of the court in the second quarter, allowing just two points on defense to stretch the lead to more than 20 points.
They led 37-8 at halftime.
The Lady Bobcats kept the score for the third quarter closer, but the Lady Hornets still continued to add to their lead.
They led 46-15 going into the final period.
The Lady Hornets didn’t allow Flintville to get back into the game at all as they added a few more points to their advantage before winning by 47.
TaTianna Stovall led the Lady Hornets with 14 points for the game, followed by Aysia Williams with 10 points and Hazel Reed and Morgan Sanders with nine points each.
Bailey Morris, Jocy May and Maddie Burks scored four points each, Mica Finchum scored two points and Yareli Avalos scored one.
With the win, the Lady Hornets improved to 15-2 on the season.
They will next play Monday at home against Fayetteville Middle School. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
