The Franklin County High School boys golf team played the Grundy County Yellowjackets in a nine-hole match Thursday at the Bear Trace at Tims Ford.

The Rebels easily won the match as a team by 59 strokes as they had the four lowest individual scorers for the day.

Nathan Calahan led the Rebels with a 35 for the day, followed closely by Jack Curtis with a mark of 37 for the match.

Hayden Curl carded a 39 for the match to finish third overall for the Rebels.

Caleb Maybrey rounded out the scoring for Franklin County with a total of 45 strokes for the day.

This gave the Rebels a team score of 156 for the match, which was significantly better than the 215 posted by the Yellowjackets.

The lowest scorer on Grundy County’s side for the day was Lucas Woodlee with a score of 48.

The Rebels will next be in action on Monday in a multi-team match at the WillowBrook Golf Club in Manchester. The match is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
