The Franklin County Rebelettes lost to the Coffee County Lady Raiders 69-33 on the road Tuesday for their 10th loss of the season.
A lengthy scoring drought in the first half would put the Rebelettes in a deep hole that they couldn’t work out of in the district matchup.
The Rebelettes took an early 10-7 lead with the assistance of 3-pointers from Heidi Seay and Madison King, but the Lady Raiders scored the last 10 points of the opening period.
The Rebelettes trailed 17-10 after one quarter.
The Rebelettes were then held scoreless for the entire second quarter as Coffee County created a massive deficit before the end of the half.
Franklin County trailed 37-10 at halftime.
The Rebelettes were able to get their offense going again in the third quarter, but they still continued to lose ground on the scoreboard.
They trailed 55-24 going into the final period.
A 12-2 run by the Lady Raiders to start the fourth quarter would end any small chance of a comeback as the Rebelettes lost by 36 points. Katie Walker scored all nine of Franklin County’s points in the fourth quarter.
Walker led the Rebelettes with 17 points for the game, followed by Seay with six points and King with five.
Lucy Barnes scored four points and Danica Stovall scored one.
With the loss, the Rebelettes moved to 9-10 on the season and 1-4 in district play.
They will next play Friday at home against Shelbyville Central High School. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
