The Franklin County Rebelettes lost to the Lawrence County Lady Wildcats 62-35 on the road Thursday for their 15th loss of the season.

The Rebelettes consistently lost ground on the scoreboard throughout the game as they ended their regular season with a district defeat.

The first quarter set the tone for the rest of the contest as the Lady Wildcats jumped out to an early lead.

The Rebelettes trailed 14-8 after one quarter.

The second quarter played out in identical fashion as the deficit for the Rebelettes hit double digits.

They trailed 31-18 at halftime.

The Rebelettes were completely outmatched in the third quarter as the Lady Wildcats more than doubled their lead.

The Rebelettes trailed 54-26 going into the final period.

The Rebelettes couldn’t do much to cut into the deficit in the fourth quarter as they took a loss by 27 points.

Heidi Seay led the Rebelettes with nine points for the game, followed by Destiny Russell with seven points and Macy Pittenger with five points.

Madisyn Partin and Lucy Barnes scored three points each, and Ashtin Holman, Angela Tarrant, Katie Walker and Rylan Wolkonowski scored two points each.

With the loss, the Rebelettes moved to 8-15 on the season and 4-8 in district play.

They will next play Tuesday at Lincoln County High School in a quarterfinal game for their district tournament. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
