The Franklin County Rebelettes lost to the Providence Christian Academy Lady Lions 54-37 at Woodbury Grammar School Saturday in their second game for the Mitch Wilson State Farm Classic.
The Rebelettes got off to a slow start on offense which would haunt them in the second half as they could not make up a sizable deficit.
The Lady Lions ended the first quarter on an 11-0 run to quickly grow the deficit to double digits.
The Rebelettes trailed 19-7 after one quarter.
The Rebelettes put up just five points in the second quarter as their opponent continued to build its lead.
They trailed 31-12 at halftime.
The Rebelettes got their offense back on track in the third quarter, but they continued to lose ground on the scoreboard.
They trailed 45-22 going into the final period.
The Rebelettes had their best offensive quarter to end the contest as they ended the fourth quarter on a 9-2 run. However, that would not be nearly enough to rally back as they lost by 17 points.
Madisyn Partin led the Rebelettes with eight points for the game, followed by Chyenna Luttrell with seven points and Rylan Wolkonowski with six.
Hannah Escalon, Ashtin Holman and Leah Smith scored three points each, Marissa Douglass, Lucy Barnes and Beizh Holloway scored two points each, and Destiny Russell scored one point.
With the loss, the Rebelettes moved to 1-3 on the season.
They will next play Tuesday at Stone Memorial High School. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
