The Franklin County Rebelettes lost to the Shelbyville Central Golden Eaglettes 8-1 on the road Wednesday for their ninth loss of the season.
The Rebelettes trailed for the entire game with the Golden Eaglettes pulling away in the last three innings to give them the loss.
The Golden Eaglettes pushed their first run across in the bottom of the first to take an early 1-0 lead. A two-run home run by Shelbyville in the bottom of the third would make it a 3-0 game.
The Golden Eaglettes would tack on two more runs in the fourth inning and one in the fifth to put the Rebelettes in a 6-0 hole.
The Rebelettes loaded the bases with nobody out in the top of the sixth, but they were not able to push a run across in the frame after the next three batters recorded outs.
The Golden Eaglettes added two more runs to their tally in the bottom of the sixth to make it an 8-0 game.
The Rebelettes got their lone run in the top of the seventh when Alyssa Sherrill reached base and pinch-runner Destin Milner crossed home plate on an error in her place. That would be all for the Rebelettes as they lost by seven.
With the loss, the Rebelettes moved to 5-9 on the season and 2-5 in district play.
They will next play Friday at home against Shelbyville Central High School. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.
