The Franklin County soccer Rebelettes beat the Oakland Lady Patriots 2-0 at home Tuesday in a semifinal game for their regional tournament.

The Rebelettes scored once in each half and recorded their fourth straight shutout to advance to the regional championship game.

The Rebelettes got their first goal less than five minutes into the contest as Gracie Morse broke through for her 11th goal of the season.

The Lady Patriots dominated the time of possession for the remainder of the half, but the Rebelettes’ defense held strong to keep them off the board.

They led 1-0 at halftime.

With time ticking away and the Rebelettes continuing to hold on to a one-goal lead, Kara McDaniel put the game virtually out of reach by scoring with 9:40 remaining to double their advantage. The goal was McDaniel’s ninth of the year.

The Rebelettes maintained the shutout for the rest of the contest to finish off the two-goal victory.

With the win, the Rebelettes improved to 13-3-2 on the season.

They will next play Thursday at home against Stewarts Creek High School in the championship game of their regional tournament. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
