The Franklin County Rebelettes lost to the Lincoln County Lady Falcons 46-45 at home Tuesday for their 11th loss of the season.
The game came down to the final moments with the Rebelettes ultimately falling just one point short of getting their first district win of the season.
The first quarter set the tone for the rest of the day as the teams were very evenly matched throughout the period.
The Rebelettes trailed 12-11 after one quarter.
Both offenses slowed down in the second quarter as the score was tied at 18-18 at halftime.
The Lady Falcons would jump back ahead in the third quarter, but the score remained very close throughout the period. Macy Pittenger scored six of Franklin County’s 10 points in the third quarter.
They trailed 29-28 going into the final period.
Both offenses saved their best showings for the fourth quarter as the Rebelettes hit four 3-pointers as part of a 17-point period. However, the Lady Falcons matched them point-for-point and held on as the final buzzer sounded to beat the Rebelettes by a single point.
Pittenger and Ashtin Holman led the Rebelettes with 13 points for the game, followed by Rylan Wolkonowski with seven points.
Chyenna Luttrell scored five points, Angela Tarrant scored four and Heidi Seay scored three.
With the loss, the Rebelettes moved to 3-11 on the season and 0-5 in district play.
They will next play Saturday at Marshall County High School. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
