The Franklin County Rebels lost to the Coffee County Red Raiders 54-33 on the road Thursday for their fifth loss of the season.
A majority of the deficit was created in the first half as the Rebels fell behind early and were not able to make a comeback.
The Rebels were held to just two points in the first quarter with their only scoring for the period coming on a layup by Kaleb Rigsby.
They trailed 10-2 after one quarter.
The Rebels scored more points in the second quarter, but so did the Red Raiders as the deficit reached nearly 20 points before halftime.
The Rebels trailed 28-9 at the end of the first half.
The Rebels made up a bit of ground in the third quarter, but they still entered the final period facing a 37-20 deficit.
A 13-2 run by the Red Raiders midway through the fourth quarter would put the game out of reach as the Rebels ultimately took a 21-point loss.
Aydan Yates and Taylor Stovall led the Rebels with seven points each for the game, followed by Ke’Andre Johnson, Debron Russell, Shaimar Lyons and Rigsby with four points each.
Jamal Blackwell scored two points and LT Taylor scored one.
With the loss, the Rebels moved to 5-5 on the season and 1-4 in district play.
They will next play Saturday at Warren County High School. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
