The Franklin County Rebels lost to the Siegel Stars 81-42 at Cannon County High School Friday in a game for the Mitch Wilson State Farm Classic.

The Rebels kept up with the Stars early in the game, but Siegel steadily pulled away over the course of the contest to lead to the blowout loss.

The Rebels trailed by just five points late in the first quarter. However, the Stars ended the period with five straight points to create some separation.

The Rebels trailed 25-15 after one quarter.

The Stars maintained a double-digit lead on the Rebels for the entire second quarter as they were not able to make up any ground.

They trailed 45-26 at halftime.

The Stars ended any chances of a comeback early in the third quarter as they opened the period with a 15-3 run to push the lead to more than 30 points.

The Rebels trailed 68-36 going into the final period.

The deficit continued to grow throughout the fourth quarter as the Rebels lost by a final margin of 39 points.

Sumo Scaife led the Rebels with 16 points for the game, followed by Ke’Andre Johnson with 10 points and Jamal Blackwell with four.

Kane Reed and Na’Zaiyah Holman scored three points each, Malachi Perkins and Taylor Stovall scored two points each, and Aydan Yates and Nashawn Holman scored one point each.

With the loss, the Rebels moved to 1-3 on the season.

They will next play Saturday against Livingston Academy at Cannon County High in a continuation of the Mitch Wilson State Farm Classic. Tip-off is scheduled for noon.
