The Franklin County Rebels lost to the Livingston Academy Wildcats 61-43 at Cannon County High School Saturday in their second game for the Mitch Wilson State Farm Classic.
The Rebels kept the game close through the first two quarters, but a big run by the Wildcats late in the third quarter would allow them to pull away.
The Rebels closed out the opening quarter on a 12-4 run to give themselves an early lead on their opposition.
They led 14-9 after one quarter.
The Wildcats would turn the tables in the second quarter, ending the half on a 13-4 run to jump in front on the scoreboard.
The Rebels trailed 24-21 at halftime.
The Rebels came close to taking the lead multiple times in the third quarter, but the Wildcats ended the period on a 10-0 run to take full control of the game.
The Rebels trailed 42-29 going into the final period.
The deficit never went lower than seven points in the fourth quarter as the Rebels were held at bay and took a loss by 18 points.
Malachi Perkins led the Rebels with 15 points for the game, followed by Sumo Scaife with 10 points and Devean Shockley with nine.
Aydan Yates scored five points and Jamal Blackwell scored four.
With the loss, the Rebels moved to 1-4 on the season.
They will next play Tuesday at Stone Memorial High School. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
