The Franklin County Rebels lost to the Stone Memorial Panthers 66-42 on the road Tuesday for their fifth loss of the season.
The Rebels were not able to keep pace with the Panthers throughout the game as they trailed by double digits for a majority of the contest.
The Panthers opened the contest with a 13-2 run to establish early control of the scoreboard.
The Rebels trailed 15-6 after one quarter.
The Rebels put together a better offensive period in the second quarter, but they continued to lose ground on the scoreboard.
They trailed 36-16 at halftime.
The deficit would not go below 20 points for the remainder of the contest as the Panthers stayed a step ahead of Franklin County.
The Rebels trailed 52-26 going into the final period.
The Rebels closed out the game with their best offensive quarter, but they would still take a loss by 24 points.
Sumo Scaife led the Rebels with 12 points for the game, followed by Nashawn Holman with six points and Aydan Yates, Jamal Blackwell, Devean Shockley and Kane Reed with five points each.
Ke’Andre Johnson scored four points.
With the loss, the Rebels moved to 1-5 on the season.
They will next play Tuesday at Tullahoma High School. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
