The Franklin County High School Rebels lost to the Coffee County Central High School Red Raiders 50-46 on the road Friday for their 10th loss of the season.
The Rebels came close to ending their losing streak, but the hosting Red Raiders held them off in the final quarter to extend the streak to six games.
The first quarter was a tone-setter for the night as the Red Raiders jumped out to an early lead with the Rebels close behind.
The Rebels trailed 16-12 after one quarter.
The Rebels erased a small part of the deficit in the second quarter as they were just one possession behind when the first half ended.
They trailed 25-22 at halftime.
The Rebels continued to hang around against the Red Raiders in the third quarter as they entered the final period trailing by a single point.
They trailed 36-35 after three quarters.
However, the Red Raiders would maintain their lead in the final moments as they handed the Rebels a four-point loss.
Nasir Scaife and Kevin Johnson led the Rebels with 10 points each for the game, followed by Devean Shockley with eight points.
Omar Robinson and Malachi Perkins scored six points each, and Mason Mitchell and Aydan Yates scored three points each.
With the loss, the Rebels moved to 3-10 on the season and 2-3 in district play.
They will next play Tuesday at home against Tullahoma High School. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
