The Franklin County High School boys and girls tennis teams faced the teams of Marshall County Friday with both teams taking overall losses for the day.

The Rebels lost their portion of the match by a 6-1 margin with their lone win coming in an 8-3 singles victory by John Barnhill.

Om Patel and Paul McRae both had close matches for Franklin County before losing by scores of 8-6 and 8-5, respectively.

Amare Perkins and Nathan Duchadel lost their respective singles matches by margin of 8-2 and 8-1.

The doubles matches for the Rebels ended in a similar fashion with the team of Barnhill and McRae losing 8-3 while the team of Patel and Perkins got swept by a score of 8-0.

The Rebelettes were completely outmatched by the Tigerettes as they took a 7-0 loss for the day.

Audrey Everson had the closest singles match for the Rebelettes as she lost by a score of 8-4. Emily Jernigan and Chloe Daugherty lost 8-2, and Hunny Patel and Dibonni Perales lost by a margin of 8-0.

The Rebelettes were also swept in both doubles matches by scores of 8-3 and 8-0.

With the losses, the Rebels and Rebelettes both moved to 1-1 on the season.

They will next play on March 24 at Coffee County Central High School. The match is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
