The Franklin County boys and girls tennis teams beat the teams of Lawrence County High School 8-6 on the road Monday for their third win of the season.

The Rebels picked up a total of five set wins in their half of the match while the Rebelettes secured enough victories on their end to clinch an overall win.

On the boys side, the Rebels won four of the five singles matches with Cole Norris winning 8-1, John Barnhill claiming an 8-6 victory, Jackson Ashby grabbing an 8-3 win and Armando Montes picking up an 8-2 victory.

The fifth singles match would swing in favor of Lawrence County by an 8-1 margin.

The doubles team of Ashby and Montes won their match in doubles action by a score of 8-3 while the team of Norris and Barnhill took an 8-2 loss.

On the girls side, the Rebelettes claimed two singles victories with Sisi Lacroix and Emily Jernigan both winning sets by scores of 8-4 and 8-2, respectively.

The other two singles matches played were won by Lawrence County by scores of 8-1 and 8-5. The fifth match on the girls side was forfeited by Franklin County due to a lack of available players.

The team of Lacroix and Jernigan won their doubles match by a score of 8-4 while the duo of Ashley Chasteen and Amber Faris lost 8-2.

With the win, the Rebels and Rebelettes improved to 3-7 on the season and 3-4 in district play.

They will next play Tuesday at home against Tullahoma High School. The match is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
