The South Middle School Trojans lost to the White County Warriors 30-24 on the road Thursday for their 11th loss of the season.
The Trojans kept the score close for most of the day, but the Warriors pulled away in the fourth quarter to give them a loss.
The Trojans scored just two points in the opening quarter which allowed the Warriors to jump ahead early.
They trailed 6-2 after one quarter.
The teams were more even in the second quarter as the Trojans remained within a few possessions of taking the lead. Ethan Farris scored all seven of South’s points in the first half.
They trailed 11-7 at halftime.
The Trojans got their offense rolling in the third quarter as they put up 12 points and cut away most of the deficit.
They trailed 20-19 entering the final period.
However, the Warriors pulled back in front and put the game out of reach as the Trojans lost by six points.
Ethan Farris led the Trojans with 12 points for the game, followed by Lane Pearson with five points and Aiden Tate with four.
Aydin Horton scored three points.
With the loss, the Trojans moved to 1-11 on the season.
They will next play Monday at home against Warren County High School. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
