The Franklin County Rebelettes lost to the Shelbyville Central Golden Eaglettes in five sets on the road Thursday for their 16th loss of the season.

The Rebelettes played a close match for the majority of the day and came within a few points of winning, but it would not be enough as they took a road loss.

The Rebelettes got off to a strong start as they were able to pick up a convincing win in the first set by a score of 25-16.

The Golden Eaglettes would turn the tables in the second set as they were able to claim the frame by a margin of 25-20 to tie the match at 1-1.

The Rebelettes struggled in the third set as the Golden Eaglettes won it by a decisive score of 25-11 to take a 2-1 lead at the halfway point of the match.

However, the Rebelettes got back on track in the fourth set, picking up a 25-18 victory to force the match into a fifth set.

The final set came down to the wire with the Golden Eaglettes barely coming out ahead by a score of 15-13 to end the match.

With the loss, the Rebelettes moved to 5-16 on the season and 1-5 in district play.

They will next play Saturday in the Southern Slam tournament at Coffee County Central High School. The time for their first match in the event had not been announced at the time of writing.
