The Franklin County volleyball Rebelettes lost to the Coffee County Lady Raiders in three sets on the road Thursday for their fourth loss of the season.

All three sets were decided by seven points or less as the Rebelettes kept the score relatively close but were not able to claim a set.

The Lady Raiders picked up a 25-18 win in the opening set to establish an early advantage in the contest.

The second set would be the closest of the day as the Rebelettes got up to 24 points, but the Lady Raiders would pull out a 26-24 win for the frame to take a 2-0 lead on the overall scoreboard.

The Lady Raiders would wrap up the match with a 25-18 win in the third set as the Rebelettes were swept.

With the loss, the Rebelettes moved to 5-4 on the season and 1-4 in district play.

Rebelettes 3, Tullahoma 1

The Rebelettes beat the Tullahoma Lady Wildcats in four sets at home Tuesday for their fifth win of the season.

The Rebelettes won the first two sets and bounced back from a loss in the third to win the fourth frame and end the match.

The first two sets would both come down to the wire with the Rebelettes claiming victories in both series by equal scores of 25-23.

The Lady Wildcats would avoid the sweep as they grabbed a 25-18 win in the third set to prolong the match.

However, the Rebelettes would hold on to win the fourth set by a familiar score of 25-23 to clinch a victory.

With the win, the Rebelettes improved to 5-3 on the season.

They will next play Saturday at a varsity tournament in Manchester. Their first match for the tournament is scheduled for 9 a.m. at Westwood Middle School with additional matches scheduled for noon and 1 p.m. at the same location.
