The Franklin County Rebelettes lost to the Giles County Lady Bobcats 3-1 on the road Thursday for their 12th loss of the season.

The Rebelettes fell behind early and were held scoreless until the seventh inning of the contest as the loss moved their district record for the season back down to .500.

The first five batters for the Lady Bobcats in the bottom of the first reached base with two of them being brought around to score to make it a 2-0 game.

Addison Partin hit a one-out single for the Rebelettes in the top of the second for one of their two hits in the game, but she was unable to advance past first base before the inning concluded.

A two-out error from the Rebelettes in the bottom of the third allowed another run to score for Giles County to increase the early deficit to 3-0.

Kaitlyn Montgomery drew a leadoff walk for the Rebelettes in the top of the seventh and advanced to second base on a groundout from Partin.

Mollye Casey recorded a two-out RBI single a few batters later to drive in Montgomery and bring the potential tying run up to bat, but a flyout then ended the contest as the Rebelettes lost by two.

Dalayna Marshall pitched the first 4 1-3 innings for the Rebelettes with one strikeout, seven hits, one walk, one earned run and two unearned runs allowed for the day.

Victoria Nelson pitched 1 2-3 scoreless innings in relief with one strikeout and one hit allowed.

With the loss, the Rebelettes moved to 13-12 on the season and 3-3 in district play.

They will next play Friday at home against Battle Creek High School. First pitch is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
