The Franklin County Rebelettes beat the Marion County Lady Warriors 14-3 at home Monday for their 13th win of the season.

The Rebelettes built up a big lead early in the contest and fully pulled away in the bottom of the sixth as they recorded their third straight victory.

The Lady Warriors were the first team on the board as a leadoff single and a two-run home run in the top of the first made it a 2-0 game.

However, the Rebelettes quickly jumped ahead in the bottom of the first as Bella Smith recorded a leadoff home run, Kaitlyn Montgomery hit a sacrifice fly to drive in Kyleigh DeCamp from third base, and Hadley Jolley scored off of an error on a ball hit by Mollye Casey to make it a 3-2 game.

A two-out RBI single from DeCamp in the bottom of the second expanded the early lead to 4-2.

The Rebelettes then scored five more runs in the bottom of the third as Victoria Nelson hit an RBI single, Casey scored off of an error on a ball hit by Alex Hand, and Smith launched a three-run home run to center field to push the overall deficit up to 9-2.

The Lady Warriors got one of those runs back in the top of the fifth as a sacrifice fly cut the lead down to 9-3 in the frame.

The Rebelettes put the game out of reach with a five-run sixth inning as DeCamp hit an RBI single, Montgomery recorded an RBI fielder’s choice, Addison Partin drew a bases-loaded walk, and Nelson hit a two-run single to trigger the mercy rule as the Rebelettes won by 11.

Smith pitched the first five innings for the Rebelettes with five strikeouts, four hits, one walk and three runs allowed.

Nelson pitched one scoreless inning in relief with no hits or walks allowed.

With the win, the Rebelettes improved to 13-11 on the season.

They will next play Thursday at Giles County High School. First pitch is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
