ROBERT BRYANT

 BRYANT, CMSgt. Robert G., passed away on Thursday, Oct. 19, 2023, at Ascension St. Thomas Hospital in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, at the age of 90. He was born in Whitley County, Kentucky, and grew up in Harlan, Kentucky. After graduation from Harlan High School, he entered the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and served for 26 years, retiring at the rank of Chief Master Sergeant with several awards, including the Air Force’s Meritorious Service Medal. While stationed in Arizona he received a B.S in Management from Arizona State University. Bob served as an Air Force contracting officer at bases in the U.S. and overseas, followed by five years as a recruiter supervisor in Nashville, Tennessee, providing supervision over all Air Force recruiters in the state of Tennessee. After retiring from the Air Force, Bob worked for the Department of Energy in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, as a contract analyst, then was one of the very first Nissan employees at the Smyrna, Tennessee plant in the construction contracting department. Bob was a Protestant, a Kentucky Colonel and an avid Kentucky Wildcats basketball fan. Growing up, he played city league basketball, then with the Air Force, played on basketball teams at every base. He loved sports and enjoyed coaching and participating with his children (and then his grandchildren) in baseball, basketball, fishing, soap box derbies and other varied activities. He also dearly loved family pets Daisy and Rosie. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Matt and Samantha Bryant and sisters, Wilma Bryant Baker and Wanda Gail Bryant. He is survived by Carol Dawn Bryant, his wife of 68 years; brother, Ronald Bryant (Jackie); his children, Donna Bryant Brock and Mark Bryant (Julie); and six grandchildren, Adam Brock (Lauren), Matthew Brock (Jill), Annie Bryant (fiancée Chad White), Katye Brock Bodak (Jason), Emma Bryant Bonham (Trey) and Wesley Bryant. Bob was also great-grandpa to six girls, Talia, JoJo, Caroline, Ruby, Anderson and Maverick. He was looking forward to the arrival of a great-grandson, Brock Michael, who is due in January 2024. Visitation was held on Monday, Oct. 23, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with funeral services following at 1 p.m.  Interment followed at Cowan Montgomery Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Christ’s Hands Inc., 112 Railroad St., Harlan, KY 40831 or to your favorite animal shelter. PATRICIA JOHNSON-POOLE

 JOHNSON-POOLE, Patricia Ann, age 70, of Decherd, went home to her heavenly father on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2023. Patricia was born on Aug. 13, 1953, in Winchester, Tennessee, to the late Jim and Bernice (Childress) Johnson. She was baptized at a young age and considered Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church to be her home church.  Patricia retired from Southern Tennessee Regional Health System after many years of service in the housekeeping department.  You could find her in the kitchen preparing wonderful home-cooked meals for her family and friends to enjoy while spending quality time together.  In her spare time you could find her watching her favorite daytime soap operas, Young and Restless and Bold and Beautiful. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Spencer Johnson; brother, Jerry Johnson; and several aunts and uncles.  She leaves behind to cherish her memories, husband, Marvin Poole; daughter, Tasha Johnson (Jonathan Lee); son, Martin Johnson; grandson, James W. Lee; siblings, Brenda  Hill (Frank Nard), Barbara Johnson, Jimmy (Linda) Johnson and Jesse Johnson; blessed daughters, Miranda Ezell and Shameika Biddle; aunts and uncles, Susie Childress, Waldean and Samuel Wilkerson, Janie Johnson, Ann Eddy and Louise Johnson; special niece, Connie Kennerly; nephews, Jermaine Johnson, Sammy Johnson, Billy Ray Kennerly, Jr., Brice Kennerly, Patrick Johnson and Cody Johnson; blessed cousin, Angela Ewing; and a host of great-nieces and great-nephews.  Visitation will be held on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2023, from 1-2 p.m. at Watson Funeral Home with funeral services following at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Watson Memorial Park with family and friends serving as pallbearers.  Watson Funeral Home, 405 Sharp Springs Road, Winchester, TN 37398, 931-967-2345, www.watsonfhtn.com.
