Clocks ‘fall back’ on Sunday
As the time rolls back to standard time Sunday at 2 a.m., everyone will gain an hour of sleep if they go to bed at the regular time.
Fortunately, the time change will happen automatically on most all smartphones, computers, tablets and other digital devices, but unless you want to get up and change the clocks at 2 a.m. on Sunday, go ahead and adjust your bedside clock before retiring Saturday night.
The change of time will mean it gets dark earlier, and for many 9-to-5’ers, it will be getting dark when they leave work. The time change also means daybreak will appear earlier which is good for early-risers who enjoy walking or jogging in daylight.
While changing the clocks, be sure to change the batteries in smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors and check to make sure they are in working order by pushing the test button. Firefighters report that the risk of dying in home structure fires is cut in half in homes with working smoke alarms.
