The Franklin County Middle Rebelettes lost to the Harris Eaglettes 2-1 on the road Saturday in the Central Tennessee Conference championship game.
All of the scoring for the game was done in the first half with the third-seeded Rebelettes coming up just short against the top-seeded Eaglettes in the conference title game.
The Eaglettes went on the attack immediately as they scored less than two minutes after the opening kickoff to quickly put the Rebelettes in a 1-0 hole.
The Rebelettes tied the score up with about 15 minutes remaining in the first half as a pass from Molly Moore to Hadley Jolley was followed by Jolley passing the ball further up to Keren Quintanilla, and Quintanilla hit a shot around the opposing goalkeeper for her second goal of the season.
However, the Eaglettes scored again less than two minutes later to swiftly jump back in front.
The Rebelettes trailed 2-1 at halftime.
The Rebelettes had multiple scoring opportunities throughout the second half, but they weren’t able to find another equalizer as they lost by one.
Following the conclusion of the game, Moore, Jolley and Cadence Townsend were named to the all-conference team for the season.
With the loss, the Rebelettes finished their season with a record of 8-4-1.
