Sept. 16

Family fun day

Maxwell Baptist Church will hold a family fun day Saturday from 3-6 p.m. at the Huntland City Park. Enjoy free food, a bounce house, puppet show and more. All are welcome.

Singing

Everyone is invited to a singing Saturday at 7 p.m. at Cowan Apostolic Church of Restoration, 324 West Cumberland St., Cowan, featuring The Freemans. The event will be held outside under a pavilion with concession stands available. A love offering will be taken.

Singing

Paynes Baptist Church, 2545 Paynes Church Road, Estill Springs, will hold a gospel bluegrass singing featuring the Sims Family, The Modesitt Family, Final Crossing and Paynes’ local talent on Saturday at 5 p.m. The event will be held outside. Bring a lawn chair. A fellowship meal will follow.

Food distribution

Christ the King Anglican Church, 1231 Cumberland St., Decherd, in association with Feed America First, will distribute food and groceries to those in need in the community on a first-come, first-serve basis beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday. Please remain in your vehicle.

Sept. 17

Widow support group

Wings of Hope Widows Ministry will hold a widow-to-widow support group meeting Sunday from 3-4:30 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 213 First Avenue Northwest, Winchester. Co-facilitators will be Laura Lowndes and Gayle Creason.

Unitarian Universalist

The Unitarian Universalist Church of Tullahoma, 3536 New Manchester Hwy., Tullahoma, welcomes Rev. Doc. Michelle Pederson speaking on “Everything Doesn’t Need to be Fixed” Sunday at 10 a.m. The service is followed by refreshments and a discussion. Visit www.tullahomauu.org.

Alabama Crossmen

at Wilder Chapel

The Wilder Chapel Congregational Methodist Church, 1558 Wilder Chapel Road, Decherd, will be hosting the Alabama Crossmen Gospel group on Sunday at 5 p.m.

Sept. 17-21

Gospel meeting

The Cowan church of Christ will be holding Gospel meetings from Sunday through Sept. 21 with Bill Cantrell doing the preaching. Sunday service times are 9:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday services are at 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome.  

Sept. 20

Tullahoma Sangha

Tullahoma Sangha, a Zen Buddhist meditation and study group, meets on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Tullahoma, 3536 New Manchester Hwy., Tullahoma.  The service will consist of zazen (meditation), a short lesson, and discussion.   Newcomers are welcome. Family Stories series

Everyone is invited to a special Family Stories series featuring guest speakers at the Winchester Church of Christ auditorium located at 1230 South College St., Winchester. Dates, speakers and topics include Sept. 20, Dale Jenkins with The Jenkins Institute, Nashville, “The Secret of Raising Great Kids;” and Sept. 27, Matt Cook with Freed-Hardeman University, “Curveball – When your Family Faces the Unexpected.”

Sept. 30

Singing

The Dixie Sims Memorial Bluegrass and Gospel Singing will be held Sept. 30 from 4-8 p.m. at Camp Rain, 626 Bennett Cemetery Road in Alto, featuring The Sims Family, The Agee Family, The Gardners and Boyett Sisters. Concessions will be available.
