Hornet golfers fall to Moore County at Bear Trace

The Huntland High School boys golf team played in a nine-hole match Monday at the Bear Trace at Tims Ford against the Moore County Raiders.

The Hornet golfers ended the match with a team score of 221, putting them well behind Moore County’s final tally of 184 for the day.

Landon Farmer had the top performance of the day for the Hornets as he turned in his card with a score of 49.

Carson Riley followed right behind him with a score of 50, and Riley also recorded a rare hole-in-one on the course’s fourth hole.

Chandler Banks was next in line for the Hornets as he ended the event with a score of 59.

Maddux Riley rounded out the field for the Hornets as he shot a score of 63 for the day.

The Hornet golfers will next play Monday in the District 11A tournament at the Henry Horton Golf Course. First tee time for Huntland at the event is scheduled for 8:40 a.m.
