Hornet golfers take on Moore County, Community at Bear Trace

The Huntland High School boys golf team competed in a nine-hole match Tuesday at the Bear Trace at Tims Ford against the teams of Community and Moore County.

The Hornet golfers finished second in the team standings for the match with a group score of 201. The Moore County Raiders would take the top spot with a score of 192, and the Community Vikings settled for third with a combined total of 218 strokes.

Kamden Smith finished with the top score on the day for the Hornets as he shot a score of 47 across his nine holes.

Teammate Lucas Freeman finished right behind Smith with his score of 48 helping the overall scoring effort for Huntland.

Landon Farmer and Chandler Banks carded equal scores of 53 to round out the team scoring for the Hornets.

The Hornet golfers will next compete Tuesday in a nine-hole match at the Pebble Creek Golf Club against the teams of Moore County and Fayetteville City. The match is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
